1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - Ilkeston, Derbyshire (DE7) - £95-£105 per day (dependent on experience) - Full-Time | Monday to Friday | Term Time Only

Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a compassionate and committed 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil within a welcoming primary school in Ilkeston.

This rewarding role involves working closely with a child who requires additional support to access learning, develop confidence, and thrive both academically and socially.

The school is looking for someone who can build positive relationships, provide consistent support, and help create a nurturing learning environment.

The Role

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs.
  • Support learning activities both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Implement strategies to support communication, emotional regulation, and engagement.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and independence.
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and parents to support progress.
  • Monitor and report on the pupil's development and achievements.
  • The Ideal Candidate
  • Has experience supporting children with SEN, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH, or speech and language needs.
  • Is patient, resilient, and adaptable.
  • Has strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Can build trusting relationships with children and staff.
  • Is passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning.
  • Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.
