Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting! Are you a compassionate and ambitious HLTA looking for a rewarding full‑time role in a primary school? We are seeking an experienced and passionate HLTA for an Ofsted rated "Good" North Liverpool based primary school. This is a full‑time role starting from September 2026 with trials before.

Main Duties

  • To take classes while teachers have PPA or cover is required
  • Fully support and comply with all school's safeguarding policies and practices
  • To provide short term cover in absence of teachers with professional guidance and support from key stage lead
  • Lead intervention programmes
  • Work with individual/small groups to provide personalised provision for pupils.
  • To complement teachers' delivery of the national curriculum and contribute to the development of other support staff, pupils and school policies and strategies.
  • To work collaboratively with teaching staff and assist teachers in the whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources
  • To provide support for pupils, the teacher and the school in order to raise standards of achievement for all pupils (e.g. SEN, PP, EAL & all underachieving groups)
  • To fully support the teaching and learning strategy implemented by the school and to advocate this at all times.
  • To support the school on its improvement journey.

Personal Qualities

  • Be committed to the Catholic ethos of the school
  • Have excellent and innovative classroom practice with the skills and knowledge to develop and support teachers in the delivery of outstanding learning in the classroom and wider school
  • Have the skill‑set and confidence to take classes for PPA and when short term cover is required
  • Be able to lead interventions and evaluate their impact on pupil's progress and attainment

Requirements to join

  • Minimum of 12 months experience in a similar role
  • Experience of working with people with SEND
  • Meet the HLTA standards or equivalent
  • An enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
  • A CV that must cover the last 10 years of employment history (where possible)
  • Legal right to work in the UK
