Higher Level TA | North London | Alternative Provisions
Are you a Higher Level Teaching Assistant seeking a meaningful new opportunity in North London? Or are you an experienced educator passionate about supporting young people who have faced challenges in mainstream education?
Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistants to work across various alternative provisions in North London. These settings specialize in supporting Key Stage 4 students, particularly those dealing with anxiety, school avoidance, and other educational barriers. We have full-time, long-term positions available starting September 2025 with potential for permanent opportunities.
As a Higher Level TA you will be responsible for:
- Supporting Key Stage 4 students with anxiety and school avoidance on both individual and small group basis
- Facilitating learning activities and educational interventions alongside qualified teachers
- Establishing positive relationships with students to re-engage them with learning and build their confidence
- Providing emotional support and helping students develop effective coping mechanisms
- Collaborating with teaching teams, families, and external support agencies
- Tracking and documenting student progress, attendance patterns, and learning outcomes
- Assisting students with GCSE preparation and coursework completion
To be successful in this role you will need:
- HLTA status or substantial experience supporting secondary students with complex educational needs
- Background working with young people experiencing anxiety, school avoidance, or similar challenges
- Knowledge of alternative educational approaches and understanding of trauma-informed practices
- Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (where applicable) and satisfactory professional references
- Employment history covering the previous 10 years where possible
- Right to work in the UK
Daily rate: Β£110 β Β£140
