Are you passionate about supporting young people who need guidance, structure, and encouragement to thrive? We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and resilient Pastoral Worker to join a supportive Alternative Provision setting in Chapel-en-le-Frith. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students who require additional emotional and behavioural support.
The Role
As a Pastoral Worker, you will play a key role in supporting students both inside and outside the classroom. You will help promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, engagement in learning, and personal development.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Building positive and trusting relationships with students
- Supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs
- Managing behaviour in a calm and consistent manner
- Providing mentoring and pastoral support on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Working closely with teachers, safeguarding leads, and external agencies
- Encouraging attendance, engagement, and confidence
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about supporting vulnerable young people
- Calm, resilient, and adaptable
- Experienced in pastoral, youth work, behaviour support, mentoring, or education settings
- Able to build strong professional relationships
- Confident managing challenging behaviour positively
Experience within Alternative Provision, SEMH, youth work, care, or mentoring is highly desirable, but transferable experience will also be considered.
