Role Summary

Role Summary The successful candidate will teach Health and Social Care and Sociology across KS4 and KS5 on a full-time basis from September until December.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging Health and Social Care and Sociology lessons.
  • Teach examination specifications effectively and support student achievement.
  • Assess, monitor and report on student progress.
  • Differentiate learning to meet a range of abilities and needs.
  • Contribute positively to departmental planning and curriculum development.
  • Promote high standards of behaviour and classroom engagement.
  • Support students with examination preparation and revision strategies.
  • Participate fully in school meetings, parents' evenings and professional development activities.

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching Health and Social Care and/or Sociology within a UK secondary school.
  • Strong subject knowledge.

  • Pay and Progression

Pay and Progression Pay is determined using the national teacher pay scale.

M1 (£40,317) typically applies to teachers at the beginning of their teaching career with QTS.

Progression through M2-M5 is based upon successful teaching experience, subject knowledge, classroom impact and professional performance.

M6 (£52,300) is typically achieved by experienced classroom practitioners with a proven track record of improving outcomes, strong curriculum delivery skills and sustained positive impact on teaching and learning.
