Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for a reliable and proactive Site Supervisor to support a welcoming school in the Haslingden area. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced caretaker or facilities professional looking to work within an educational setting, with the potential for the role to become permanent for the right candidate. The school prides itself on providing a safe, secure, and well-maintained environment for pupils, staff, and visitors. The successful candidate will play a key role in the day-to-day operational management of the site.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday: 6:30am - 9:30am and 3:00pm - 6:00pm
  • Flexibility will be required to support school events, lettings, and occasional emergency situations.

The Role

  • Opening and securing the school site each day
  • Locking and unlocking school buildings and gates
  • Ensuring the security and safety of the school premises
  • Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs across the site
  • Completing routine cleaning duties and maintaining high standards of cleanliness
  • Supporting health and safety compliance across the school
  • Managing day-to-day site issues efficiently and independently
  • Assisting with the setup and clear-down of school events and activities
  • Conducting regular site inspections and reporting any maintenance concerns

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

Essential

  • Previous experience in caretaking, site supervision, cleaning, or building maintenance
  • Good practical maintenance and DIY skills
  • Understanding of health and safety procedures
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise workload
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • A flexible, reliable, and proactive attitude

Desirable

  • Experience working within a school or educational environment
  • Knowledge of COSHH, legionella, and fire safety regulations
  • Relevant maintenance, caretaking, or facilities management qualifications
