About the role

Tradewind Recruitment is working with primary schools across Harrow to find reliable, motivated Teaching Assistants for immediate and ongoing placements. Roles are available across all year groups, from Nursery through to Year 6, on a full-time or part-time basis.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work under the direction of the class teacher to support learning across the curriculum. This includes working with individuals, small groups and the whole class, assisting with phonics, reading, mathematics and wider curriculum activities. You will help create a positive, inclusive classroom environment, support pupils with additional needs under the guidance of the SENCO, assist with preparing resources and displays, and contribute to the smooth running of the classroom day.

What we are looking for:

  • Experience working with primary-aged children in a school or educational setting
  • A warm, patient and encouraging approach to supporting children's learning
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills to support pupils across the curriculum
  • Ability to follow the class teacher's plans and adapt support as needed
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND or EAL is desirable
  • Relevant qualification (Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification desirable but not essential)
  • Up-to-date safeguarding awareness and commitment to child protection
