Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting for a full time Hairdressing Tutor to work at an excellent college in Hull, starting as soon as possible and lasting until at least February half term 2026. This is a temporary position, but is available on a temporary to permanent basis if the candidate desires a permanent job and is successful in the role. Payment for the temporary role will be between £20 and £45 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. For the permanent role, a sliding scale between £25,500 to £39,267 depending on experience and qualifications. As this is a full time role, working hours will be between 8:30 and 4:30, paid on a 35 hour per week basis.

The college is very central to Hull, making it easily accessible via public transport from almost all areas of the city. There is a car park on site with limited spaces, but there is a large car park nearby with many spaces that could be subsidised in wages. The college is very proud of its vocational offering and is incredibly interested in fostering enthusiasm for different professions.

Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for teaching high quality and engaging hairdressing lessons to NVQ Level 2 and 3 students.
  • A practitioner with an NVQ Level 3 is ideal for this position, alongside suitable industry experience.
  • As such a practical subject, you will be expected to provide engaging practical work to improve hairdressing skills.
  • Tradewind will also support your development during your placement and beyond through our fantastic CPD via The National College.
  • You will be put onto all of the same CPD as permanent staff members, and encouraged to grow.

Qualifications

  • Has a PGCE or similar teaching qualification (ideal)
  • Has an NVQ Level 3 in hairdressing
  • Have experience working within colleges in the UK (ideal)
  • Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
  • CV must cover the full CV History
  • Legal right to work in the UK
