The Opportunity
We are looking for an inspiring and dedicated Year 5 Teacher to join our school for two critical terms. This role is perfect for a teacher who enjoys seeing the "lightbulb moments" that happen during the end of Key Stage 1 and wants to play a pivotal role in shaping a child's early academic journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Assessment & Achievement: Support current Year 5 pupils through their end-of-year assessments with a focus on a "low-stress, high-success" environment.
- Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver creative, high-quality lessons in line with the KS2 National Curriculum.
- Phonics Expertise: Utilise your knowledge of phonics (Read Write Inc) to bridge gaps in reading and writing.
- Transition Management: Lead a robust transition for the incoming Year 5s, ensuring they feel secure, happy, and ready to learn after the summer break.
What We Are Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Recent experience teaching in Key Stage 2 (Year 5 experience is highly advantageous).
- A nurturing approach with high expectations for pupil behaviour and progress.
- The ability to work collaboratively within a close-knit KS2 team.
