How do the roles differ? Cover Supervisor Role As a Cover Supervisor you will be required to oversee the completion of set work in the absence of the subject teacher. A role as a Cover Supervisor in a secondary school will really help refine your behaviour management strategies as you are responsible for managing the behaviour of the class. You are required to safeguard students\’ wellbeing, feedback at the end of the day to the cover manager, including reporting any issues. Teacher Assistant Role As a Teaching Assistant you could either work on a 1-2-1 or in a small group setting. The role of a Teaching Assistant could see you working with students with SEND or students who have been identified as requiring catch up.
