Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a talented and ambitious Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant for a thriving, supportive primary school in Blackpool. This is a full-time, long-term role starting February 2026, designed for someone who wants to move beyond "general classroom help" and truly impact pupil outcomes.

This isn’t just a support role; it’s a professional foundation. You will work specifically with Years 3-6, helping pupils master the transition from "learning to read" to "reading to learn." You will:

  • Lead small-group "Booster" sessions in Maths and SPAG (Spelling, Punctuation, and Grammar).
  • Work 1:1 with pupils to build their confidence ahead of KS2 SATs.
  • Be mentored by an experienced Year Lead, gaining insight into lesson planning and behavioural psychology.

What We Are Looking For (Requirements)

To maintain the high standards of this school’s KS2 department, candidates must possess:

  • Qualifications: A certified Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification OR a University Degree (ideally in Education, English, Maths, or Psychology).
  • Core Skills: Strong GCSEs (Grade C/4 or above) in English and Maths are essential to support the KS2 curriculum.
  • Relevant Experience: At least 6 months of experience working with children aged 5-11 (this can include classroom experience, tutoring, sports coaching, or youth work).
