This is a full‑time, long‑term role starting February 2026, designed for someone who wants to move beyond "general classroom help" and truly impact pupil outcomes.
The Opportunity
- This isn’t just a support role; it’s a professional foundation.
- You will work specifically with Years 3‑6, helping pupils master the transition from 'learning to read' to 'reading to learn.'
- Lead small‑group "Booster" sessions in Maths and SPAG (Spelling, Punctuation, and Grammar).
- Work 1:1 with pupils to build their confidence ahead of KS2 SATs.
- Be mentored by an experienced Year Lead, gaining insight into lesson planning and behavioural psychology.
What We Are Looking For (Requirements)
- Qualifications: A certified Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification OR a University Degree (ideally in Education, English, Maths, or Psychology).
- Core Skills: Strong GCSEs (Grade C/4 or above) in English and Maths are essential to support the KS2 curriculum.
- Relevant Experience: At least 6 months of experience working with children aged 5-11 (this can include classroom experience, tutoring, sports coaching, or youth work).
- Mindset: An adaptable, "can‑do" attitude and the ability to explain complex ideas in a way that clicks for 7-11-year-olds.
