Are you a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding part-time role within a welcoming Primary School? Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting for a committed and experienced Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and supportive Primary School in Gotham. This is a part-time position, working Monday to Friday from 8:45am until 12:00pm, supporting pupils across the primary age range. This is an excellent opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who is passionate about helping children reach their full potential and enjoys working as part of a collaborative school team.
As the Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support teaching and learning across EYFS, KS1 and/or KS2
- Work with pupils on a one-to-one basis, in small intervention groups, and within whole-class settings
- Deliver and support high-quality phonics sessions
- Adapt learning activities to meet the individual needs of pupils, providing both support and appropriate challenge
- Quickly identify misconceptions and provide effective in-the-moment interventions to develop pupils' knowledge and understanding
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Manage behaviour using calm, positive, and consistent strategies
- Work closely with the class teacher and wider school staff to support pupil progress and wellbeing
To be considered for this role, you will have:
- Experience working within a Primary School setting across EYFS, KS1 and/or KS2
- Experience supporting children on a one-to-one basis, in small groups, and within whole-class learning
- Experience delivering or supporting the teaching of phonics
- Strong behaviour management skills with the ability to remain calm, patient, and consistent
- An NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or an equivalent relevant qualification)
- A strong understanding of child development and pedagogy
- The ability to adapt activities to ensure all children are appropriately supported and challenged
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
