This is a key role within the school office, helping to ensure the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of the school while providing excellent administrative support to staff, pupils, and parents. The Role As a School Administrator, you will play an important role in the daily life of the school. Your responsibilities will include: Managing the school office and acting as the first point of contact for visitors, parents, pupils, and staff Handling telephone calls, emails, and general enquiries in a professional and friendly manner Maintaining accurate and up-to-date pupil records, databases, and school documentation Using SIMS/Next Generation to maintain pupil information and support school administration Supporting attendance monitoring, recording, and reporting Assisting with admissions, enrolment, and pupil registration Preparing letters, reports, newsletters, and general correspondence Providing effective administrative support to teachers, senior leaders, and other members of staff Ensuring the school office operates efficiently and professionally at all times Handling sensitive information appropriately and maintaining confidentiality About You We are looking for someone who is: Experienced in school administration, ideally within a primary or secondary school setting Experienced in using SIMS/Next Generation - this is highly desirable Highly organised with excellent administrative skills A confident and professional communicator with strong interpersonal skills Comfortable using Microsoft Office and other IT systems Accurate, detail-oriented, and able to maintain high standards of record keeping Able to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a busy environment Friendly, approachable, and professional Reliable, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team In possession of a Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service, or willing to apply for one Committed to safeguarding and supporting the welfare of children and young peopleMost importantly, you will have a positive attitude, a professional approach, and a genuine desire to contribute to the smooth running of a school.
