  • Alternative Pedagogy: Use the outdoor environment to teach core skills, focusing on emotional regulation, self-esteem, and practical \”life skills\”.

  • Relationship Building: Act as a consistent, positive role model for a learner who may have SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs or ASC.

  • Risk Management: Conduct dynamic risk assessments for tool use, fire lighting, and outdoor exploration to ensure a safe learning space.

Requirements

  • Qualification: Level 3 Forest School Leader (essential) and QTS/QTLS or relevant Unqualified Teaching experience.

  • Skills: Practical outdoor skills (bushcraft, horticulture, or nature conservation).

Why Join This Provision?

  • Autonomy: The freedom to design a curriculum without the constraints of four walls.

  • Career Path: A clear route from a temporary contract to a permanent, secure role in Burnley.
