- Alternative Pedagogy: Use the outdoor environment to teach core skills, focusing on emotional regulation, self-esteem, and practical "life skills."
- Relationship Building: Act as a consistent, positive role model for a learner who may have SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs or ASC.
- Risk Management: Conduct dynamic risk assessments for tool use, fire lighting, and outdoor exploration to ensure a safe learning space.
Requirements
- Qualification: Level 3 Forest School Leader (essential) and QTS/QTLS or relevant Unqualified Teaching experience.
- Experience: Proven track record of working 1:1 with "at-risk" youth or students in an AP/SEND setting.
- Mindset: A trauma-informed approach and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Skills: Practical outdoor skills (bushcraft, horticulture, or nature conservation).
Why Join This Provision?
- Autonomy: The freedom to design a curriculum without the constraints of four walls.
