Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (Deputy DSL) – Bolton – £24,400 - £26,000 FTE. Start Date: ASAP.
Role As Deputy DSL you will support the school's safeguarding provision and pastoral systems, working with the Designated Safeguarding Lead and senior leadership to identify, assess and respond to safeguarding concerns. You will ensure that all students receive the support needed to thrive academically and personally.
Responsibilities Support the Designated Safeguarding Lead in managing safeguarding and child protection cases.
Liaise with external agencies, parents, carers and other professionals where appropriate.
Monitor attendance, behaviour and wellbeing concerns.
Maintain accurate safeguarding records and documentation.
Provide pastoral support to vulnerable students and those requiring additional intervention.
Contribute to safeguarding training, awareness and best practice across the school.
Support the school's commitment to creating a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment for all pupils.
Ideal Candidate Previous experience working within a UK secondary school setting.
Experience in a pastoral, safeguarding, welfare or student support role.
A strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and child protection procedures.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, families and external agencies.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
A commitment to promoting the welfare and safeguarding of young people.
