You will be a vital link between the school, our students, and their families, ensuring every young person receives the support they need to succeed academically and personally.
We are looking for someone who can provide early help and practical guidance, tackling issues that affect a child\'s learning and well-being. This role is essential for building positive relationships and ensuring every family feels heard and supported.
Key Responsibilities
Act as a trusted point of contact for parents and carers, providing confidential advice and support on a range of issues.
Work closely with our Designated Safeguarding Lead to address concerns and ensure child protection policies are followed.
Conduct home visits and meetings to build strong parental engagement and improve student attendance.
Collaborate with internal and external agencies, including social services and health visitors, to provide comprehensive multi-agency support.
Help families navigate complex issues such as housing, finance, and mental health.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the challenges facing families and will possess excellent interpersonal skills.
Essential qualifications and experience:
A relevant Level 3 qualification (or higher) in social care, youth work, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Family Support Worker or in a similar role within a school or community setting.
A strong knowledge of safeguarding procedures and pastoral care.
Exceptional communication skills, empathy, and the resilience to handle sensitive situations.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
