We are currently recruiting for passionate and resilient Learning Support Assistants to join a specialist secondary setting supporting young people who may face barriers to mainstream education due to social, emotional, or additional learning needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who are committed to helping students regain confidence, develop independence, and achieve positive educational outcomes within a nurturing and structured environment.

The successful candidates will work closely with teaching staff and wider professionals to provide both academic and pastoral support, helping learners to build resilience, improve engagement, and develop essential life and social skills.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop positive and consistent working relationships with students, providing encouragement, structure, and emotional support.
  • Assist in delivering tailored learning and intervention activities designed to meet individual needs.
  • Support students on a one-to-one basis and within small group settings across a range of educational and enrichment activities.
  • Promote a calm, safe, and inclusive environment that supports student wellbeing and participation.
  • Help learners develop confidence, self-regulation strategies, communication skills, and independence.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals to support progress and successful outcomes.
