We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor / Keyworker to join our team working across alternative provision settings in Basildon and Romford. This is a long-term, full-time role supporting pupils who require additional behavioural, emotional, and social support.
Role
- Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEMH needs
- Act as a keyworker for allocated students, building strong, trusting relationships
- Support pupils to manage behaviour, regulate emotions, and re-engage with education
- Work closely with teaching staff, SEN professionals, and external agencies
- Support looked after children (LAC) and pupils with complex backgrounds
- Travel between sites as required
Ideal Candidate
- Experience working with SEMH pupils is highly desirable
- Experience supporting looked after children is preferred
- Calm, consistent, and resilient approach to behaviour management
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Committed to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
- Must be a car driver with access to a vehicle due to travel between sites
