An outstanding primary school in Ewell & Epsom area is seeking a dedicated and nurturing Year 3 Class Teacher to join their KS1 team on a temporary maternity cover contract after May half term. The Role
As a Year 3 Teacher, you will:
- NO planning involved, but expected to deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Year 3 curriculum
- Marking pupils work
- Support pupils' transition from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 2
- Teach core subjects including English, maths, and science
- Assess and track pupil progress, adapting lessons to meet different needs
- Create a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively using clear expectations
- Provide feedback to pupils to support improvement
- Work closely with teaching assistants and other staff
- Communicate with parents about pupil progress and wellbeing
What the School Is Looking For
- UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Proven experience teaching Year 3
- Strong understanding of the EYFS framework
- Experience delivering phonics, ideally using Little Wandle
- A nurturing, patient, and enthusiastic teaching style
- Strong classroom organisation and behaviour management skills
