Tradewind are recruiting! Are you looking for your next role teaching English Language & Literature in a great secondary school located in Southwark? Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with this Client, a thriving secondary school in the borough of Southwark, to appoint a committed and inspiring English Language & Literature Teacher to join their team full-time from September 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to teach motivated students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5, within a supportive and ambitious English department. This Client is a well-regarded secondary school that has been praised in its most recent Ofsted inspection for its strong leadership, positive learning culture, and commitment to improving outcomes for students. Inspectors highlighted the school's inclusive ethos, high expectations for behaviour and achievement, and the dedication of staff in ensuring every learner is supported to succeed academically and personally.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging English Language and Literature lessons, assessing student progress, preparing learners for GCSE examinations, and contributing to the wider life of the English department. You will be expected to inspire students through a love of language, literature, and communication, develop critical thinking skills, promote academic excellence, and support the school's ongoing commitment to raising attainment.

The ideal candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, a relevant degree in English, English Literature, or a closely related subject, and experience teaching within a secondary school setting. ECTs with strong subject knowledge and successful teaching placements are also encouraged to apply.
