Are you a dedicated mental health professional looking to make a meaningful difference in young people's lives? Would you like to begin in a school-based role with the opportunity to move into a permanent position?
We are working in partnership with all-through schools in Corby who are seeking a committed Mental Health Practitioner to join their teams from January 2026. This is a full-time, temporary-to-permanent role, offering long‑term stability within a supportive educational setting.
About the Role:
- Deliver one-to-one and small-group interventions for students experiencing emotional and mental health challenges, including anxiety, low mood, emotional regulation difficulties, and confidence issues.
- Complete assessments and contribute to individual support plans in collaboration with SENCOs, pastoral staff, and families.
- Support a whole-school approach to mental health and wellbeing, including wellbeing initiatives and student drop-in sessions.
- Work closely with teaching staff and external agencies to ensure joined‑up, child‑centred support.
- Promote resilience, emotional literacy, and positive coping strategies through structured sessions.
- Maintain accurate records in line with safeguarding and confidentiality policies.
We're Looking For:
- A qualified or experienced Mental Health Practitioner, Counsellor, Youth Worker, Mental Health Nurse, or Social Worker.
- Experience supporting children or young people in education, healthcare, or community-based settings.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships.
- A calm, empathetic, and non-judgemental approach.
- A good understanding of safeguarding practices and child mental health.
- Additional training in areas such as CBT, trauma-informed practice, or emotional regulation is desirable.
