The Role
- Deliver engaging, practical Mechanics / Motor Vehicle lessons tailored to pupils with SEMH needs
- Adapt learning to meet individual EHCP targets and varying emotional needs
- Build positive, trusting relationships with young people who may have experienced trauma or disrupted education
- Support behaviour regulation using consistent, calm, and therapeutic approaches
- Work collaboratively with pastoral teams, SEN staff, and external professionals
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- QTS/QTLS or relevant experience teaching Mechanics in an educational or training setting
- Experience working with SEMH learners or within alternative / specialist provision
- A strong understanding of mental health, attachment, and behaviour as communication
- Excellent behaviour management skills grounded in empathy and consistency
- A commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice
