We are currently recruiting for an Academic Mentor in Science to join a secondary school in Newham. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong Science background who is passionate about supporting students and helping them achieve their academic potential.
The Role
- Provide 1:1 and small-group Science support
- Support students with GCSE Science
- Support across Biology, Chemistry and Physics
- Identify learning gaps and areas for development
- Deliver targeted academic interventions
- Support exam preparation, revision and past-paper practice
- Monitor and record student progress
- Develop students' confidence and independent learning skills
- Work closely with Science teachers and pastoral staff
About You
- A strong academic background in Science
- Good knowledge of Biology, Chemistry and Physics
- Experience supporting or tutoring secondary school students
- Knowledge of GCSE Science
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to build positive relationships with students
- A passion for helping young people make progress
