Overview

Are you a doctorate-qualified Educational Psychologist looking to make a systemic, lasting impact on the lives of children and young people? Do you want to work with an organisation that respects clinical autonomy, values work‑life balance, and prioritises preventative, early intervention strategies? We are seeking exceptional, HCPC‑registered Educational Psychologists to support primary and secondary schools, academy trusts, and alternative provisions across Lancashire and Blackpool for the upcoming academic year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Holistic Assessment: Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments of learning, communication, behavioural, and emotional needs.
  • Strategic Advisory: Advise schools, SENDCOs, and local authorities on effective intervention strategies, provision mapping, and curriculum modifications.
  • EHC Plans & Tribunals: Provide robust, high‑quality psychological reports to inform Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and statutory processes.
  • Therapeutic & Consultation Work: Offer direct consultative support, systemic training, and evidence‑based interventions (such as CBT, VIG, or solution‑focused brief therapy) to school staff, parents, and families.

Candidate Requirements

  • Education: A captured Doctorate in Educational Psychology (or equivalent recognised by the British Psychological Society).
  • Professional Registration: Mandatory current registration with the HCPC.
  • Experience: Open to both newly qualified EPs (completing their doctorate by September 2026) and highly experienced specialist or senior practitioners.
  • Key Skills: High‑level active listening skills, non‑judgemental approach, strong academic writing capabilities, and an expert understanding of psychological factors affecting children's health, neurodiversity, and development.
  • Logistics: Full clean UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for travel across the Lancashire/Blackpool region.
