About the Role

Tradewind is currently working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Blackpool that is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic ECT Primary Teacher. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified teacher to begin their teaching career within a supportive and nurturing school environment. The school places a strong emphasis on creating a positive learning environment where pupils feel safe, valued, and motivated to achieve their full potential. Staff work collaboratively and the leadership team is committed to supporting teachers at the beginning of their careers through mentoring and professional development opportunities. The successful candidate will teach within either Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2, depending on experience and the needs of the school. This role will involve planning and delivering engaging lessons in line with the national primary curriculum, supporting pupils of varying abilities, and contributing to the wider school community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality lessons aligned with the national primary curriculum
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
  • Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress effectively
  • Differentiating learning to support pupils with varying needs, including SEND and EAL
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers, and colleagues
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and other staff members to support pupil learning
  • Contribute positively to the wider life of the school

Person Specification

Essential

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or expected completion by September 2026
  • A secure understanding of the primary national curriculum
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • A commitment to inclusive education and supporting all pupils
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues

Desirable

  • Experience teaching during placements within KS1 or KS2
  • Knowledge of effective behaviour management strategies
  • An interest in contributing to extracurricular activities
