Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a dedicated and resilient Design Technology (DT) Teacher to join a well-established Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) / SEMH provision in Eccles on a full-time basis from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate DT specialist who is committed to supporting young people who face social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges. The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping students re-engage with education through practical, creative and vocational learning.
The Role
- Deliver engaging Design Technology lessons to small class groups.
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of students with SEMH needs.
- Create a positive, structured and supportive learning environment.
- Manage behaviour effectively and build strong relationships with students.
- Work collaboratively with support staff, pastoral teams and senior leaders to promote student progress and wellbeing.
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Design Technology at secondary level.
- Previous experience within a PRU, SEMH setting, alternative provision or working with challenging behaviour is desirable.
- Strong classroom management skills and a nurturing approach.
- A commitment to raising aspirations and outcomes for vulnerable young people.
