Tradewind are recruiting! Are you looking for your next role teaching Teachers of Design & Technology (Food Science, Graphics and/or Textiles) in a school located in Southwark? Tradewind Recruitment are delighted to be working with this Client, a highly respected and ambitious secondary foundation school based in Southwark, who are seeking enthusiastic and talented Teachers of Design & Technology specialising in Food Science, Graphics and/or Textiles to join their successful department on a permanent basis from September.

This is a full-time opportunity offering a salary on the London MPS/UPS scale, with interviews to be arranged immediately. The successful candidates will join a dynamic and forward-thinking Design & Technology department, delivering engaging and inspiring lessons across Key Stages 3, 4 and potentially Key Stage 5 within their specialist area. The role will include:

  • Planning and delivering high-quality Design & Technology lessons in Food Science, Graphics and/or Textiles
  • Creating engaging learning experiences that inspire creativity and innovation
  • Assessing, monitoring, and tracking student progress effectively
  • Contributing to curriculum planning and development within the department
  • Supporting students of all abilities to achieve their full potential
  • Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, engagement, and achievement
  • Participating fully in departmental and whole-school initiatives

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Have a relevant degree or qualification within Design & Technology or a related subject
  • Demonstrate strong subject knowledge within Food Science, Graphics and/or Textiles
  • Have experience teaching Design & Technology at secondary level
  • Be passionate about delivering outstanding teaching and learning
  • Possess excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Be committed to supporting student progress and achievement
  • Work effectively as part of a collaborative and supportive team
