Tradewind Recruitment is working with a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Dunstable looking for a resilient, adaptable and passionate PPA Teacher to support pupils with additional needs, including those who may display challenging behaviour. This is a rewarding opportunity for a teacher with experience working in a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) who understands the importance of building positive relationships, setting clear boundaries and creating a safe, supportive learning environment where every pupil has the chance to succeed. What you'll be doing: Delivering engaging lessons across a range of subjects and year groups to cover teachers' PPA time Supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH needs and challenging behaviour Creating a structured, calm and consistent learning environment Using positive behaviour management strategies to encourage engagement and minimise disruption Adapting lessons and learning activities to meet pupils' individual needs and abilities Building trusting relationships with pupils who may have experienced barriers to learning Working collaboratively with school staff to maintain consistency and support pupils' progressWe're looking for someone who: Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Has previous experience working in a PRU or a similar alternative provision setting Has experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH needs and challenging behaviour Is confident managing challenging situations calmly, fairly and consistently Can adapt their teaching style to engage pupils with a range of learning needs Is patient, resilient and passionate about helping every child reach their potential Can build positive relationships while maintaining clear expectations and boundariesWhy work with Tradewind Recruitment?
