This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire students through the performing arts and contribute to a supportive and ambitious school community.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and creative Drama lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering students' confidence, creativity, and performance skills. The role offers the opportunity to become an integral part of the academy's Performing Arts department and make a lasting impact on student achievement.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Drama lessons in line with the national curriculum.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages participation and creativity.
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing effective feedback to support development.
- Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of learners with varying abilities.
- Maintain high standards of classroom management and behaviour.
- Support students in developing performance, communication, and collaborative skills.
- Contribute to school productions, performances, and extracurricular activities where appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and wider school staff to support student success.
- Uphold safeguarding policies and promote the welfare of all students.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Specialism in Drama or a related Performing Arts subject.
- Experience teaching Drama at secondary school level.
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- A passion for Drama education and inspiring young people.
- An enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
- The legal right to work in the UK.
