Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with this Client, a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in the borough of Newham, to appoint a passionate and creative Design & Technology Teacher to join their team on a full-time basis from September 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic DT specialist to inspire creativity, innovation, and practical skills across Key Stage 3 within a supportive and ambitious school environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging Design & Technology lessons across Key Stage 3, developing students' design thinking, problem-solving, and practical making skills.
You will be expected to plan and deliver high-quality lessons, assess student progress, contribute to curriculum development, and support enrichment opportunities that encourage innovation and creativity across the department.
Job role requirements include teaching Design & Technology across KS3, strong subject knowledge within DT, the ability to deliver creative and well-structured practical lessons, effective classroom and behaviour management, and a commitment to supporting students in developing both technical skills and confidence.
Experience or knowledge of areas such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, Engineering, or Food Technology would be desirable.
You should also be willing to contribute to departmental projects, exhibitions, and enrichment activities.
The ideal candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, a degree in Design & Technology or a related subject, and experience teaching DT within a secondary school setting.
A strong understanding of the KS3 Design & Technology curriculum is essential.
The successful teacher will be innovative, organised, and passionate about design and technology, with the ability to inspire students of all abilities.
ECTs with strong DT training and placement experience are encouraged to apply.
