We are seeking a passionate and creative Design and Technology Teacher to join a dynamic secondary school in Durham. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping them to develop practical skills, problem‑solving abilities, and a love for innovation and design.
Role Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Design and Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum.
- Teach across KS3 and KS4, covering a range of specialisms such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, or Engineering (depending on expertise).
- Create a supportive, inclusive, and safe learning environment where all students can thrive.
- Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including those with additional support requirements.
- Monitor, assess, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback to help pupils reach their full potential.
- Prepare students for internal assessments and external examinations, including GCSE coursework and practical elements.
- Contribute to curriculum planning, resource development, and departmental improvement.
- Support extracurricular and enrichment activities related to Design and Technology where possible.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Design and Technology at KS3-KS4.
- Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for fostering creativity and innovation.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
