Working across a trust of schools and alternative provisions, you will play a key role in helping pupils re-engage with education, build confidence, and achieve positive outcomes.

As a Supply PRU Teaching Assistant, no two days will be the same. You may work across a variety of settings, supporting pupils in small groups, one-to-one interventions, or within specialist classrooms.

The Role

  • Support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils who may have experienced barriers to learning.
  • Support behaviour management strategies and promote positive outcomes.
  • Work on a one-to-one basis or with small groups of students.
  • Encourage pupil engagement, attendance, and personal development.
  • Work flexibly across multiple schools and provisions within the trust.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach.
  • The ability to remain professional in challenging situations.
  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

Experience within a PRU, alternative provision, SEN setting, youth offending service, residential care, or similar environment would be highly advantageous but is not essential.
