The Role: Deputy Head Teacher, Blackpool AP

As the Deputy Head Teacher, you will work closely with the Head Teacher to provide strategic leadership and manage the day-to-day operations of our alternative provision. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the highest standards of teaching, learning, and pupil welfare are met. You will be instrumental in shaping the school\\\'s ethos, driving positive change, and fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where every student can thrive.

Key responsibilities

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is desirable but not essential.

  • Significant experience in a school setting, preferably within an alternative provision (AP), Pupil Referral Unit (PRU), or a Special Educational Needs (SEN) school.

  • Proven track record of improving educational outcomes for vulnerable and hard-to-reach young people.

  • Deep knowledge of safeguarding procedures, SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health), and trauma-informed teaching.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A resilient, empathetic, and flexible approach.
