Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Support Officer to join a welcoming secondary school in Daventry from September 2026. This is an excellent temp-to-perm opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting young people, promoting positive behaviour, and helping students overcome barriers to learning.

The Role

As a Pastoral Support Officer, you will play a key role in supporting students' emotional wellbeing, attendance, behaviour, and personal development. Working closely with the pastoral team, teaching staff, and families, you will help create a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing pastoral support to students across the school
  • Building positive relationships with students, parents, and staff
  • Supporting behaviour management and student engagement
  • Assisting with attendance monitoring and intervention strategies
  • Supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs
  • Working alongside safeguarding and inclusion teams where required
  • Encouraging positive attitudes towards learning and personal development

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has experience working with young people in an educational, youth work, care, or support setting
  • Is confident, resilient, and approachable
  • Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Can effectively support students with behavioural, emotional, or additional needs
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
  • Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one
