Tradewind Recruitment is proud to be working with a specialist SEN school in Daventry, seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Mentor to support students across Secondary and Further Education (FE) age ranges.
This rewarding role involves working closely with young people who have a wide range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including moderate to severe learning difficulties, autism spectrum conditions (ASC), social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, and associated behavioural or communication challenges. The school provides a highly supportive, structured, and inclusive environment, where every student is encouraged to achieve their full potential.
As a Learning Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting students both academically and emotionally, helping them to engage with learning, regulate emotions, develop independence, and build confidence. You may work one-to-one or in small groups, offering tailored support that meets individual education, health and care plans (EHCPs). You will collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff to ensure consistent and meaningful support throughout the school day.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing emotional, behavioural, and learning support to students with complex needs
- Supporting students during lessons, transitions, and social times
- Encouraging positive behaviour, resilience, and self-regulation
- Acting as a trusted adult and positive role model
