Are you a caring and enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting young children during the early stages of their education? We are working with a welcoming primary school in Darwen that is looking to appoint a dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistant to support a child joining Reception in September. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a child's transition into school while working as part of a supportive Early Years team.

The Role

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a child starting Reception in September.
  • Support the child's communication, language, and social development throughout the school day.
  • Deliver and reinforce phonics activities to support early reading skills.
  • Encourage learning through play, helping to create engaging and meaningful learning experiences.
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, and external professionals to support the child's individual needs.
  • Observe and record progress, contributing to planning and review meetings where appropriate.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Have previous experience working within an EYFS setting.
  • Have experience supporting children with speech and language needs.
  • Be confident delivering and supporting phonics interventions.
  • Understand the importance of play-based learning and child-led development within the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • Be patient, nurturing, and committed to helping every child reach their full potential.
  • Have excellent communication skills and enjoy working as part of a team.
