Are you passionate about making a real difference to children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)? Tradewind is working closely with a range of mainstream primary schools across the London Borough of Croydon who are seeking dedicated 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistants to support pupils with mild to moderate learning needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, and SEMH. This is a rewarding opportunity to support individual pupils to access learning, build confidence, and thrive within a mainstream classroom environment.
The Role
- Provide 1:1 tailored support for pupils with SEND throughout the school day
- Support learning, emotional regulation, and social development
- Work alongside class teachers and SENCOs to implement EHCP targets and support plans
- Adapt learning resources to meet individual needs
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
- Holds at least a Level 1 Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3 desirable)
- Has previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within SEND or inclusion
- Confident supporting pupils with additional needs in a mainstream primary setting
- Patient, empathetic, and committed to pupil progress and wellbeing
- Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
- Available Monday to Friday (part-time roles still require weekday availability)
