Tradewind Recruitment are currently working with a supportive secondary school in the Crosby area to recruit an enthusiastic and skilled Teacher of Food Technology for a long-term supply role. This position is to start as soon as possible and will continue until July.
The successful candidate will teach Food Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging practical and theory lessons that inspire students to develop their cooking, nutrition and food preparation skills.
About the role- Deliver engaging Food Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4.
- Teach students key skills in food preparation, nutrition, hygiene and healthy eating.
- Plan and deliver practical and theory-based lessons that cater to a range of abilities.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback.
- Maintain a safe and organised learning environment within the food technology classroom.
- Support positive behaviour and encourage student participation and confidence.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Food Technology within a UK secondary school setting.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
- Confidence delivering both practical and theoretical elements of the curriculum.
- A strong understanding of food safety and classroom health and safety procedures.
- An enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Competitive daily pay rates, depending on experience.
