The Role As a Cover Supervisor, you will: Supervise classes across KS3 and KS4 during the short-term absence of teaching staff. Deliver pre-planned lessons and ensure students remain on task. Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment. Ensure students understand the work set and encourage them to complete activities. Adapt your approach to support students of different abilities and learning needs. Follow school policies and procedures, including behaviour and safeguarding. Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding student engagement and lesson progress. Build positive relationships with pupils and staff across the school. The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who: Has experience working with secondary-aged pupils or young people. Is confident managing a classroom and maintaining positive behaviour. Has excellent communication and organisational skills. Can use their initiative and adapt to different classroom situations. Is reliable, flexible and able to build positive relationships with students. Has a genuine interest in education and supporting young people. Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, Tutor, Youth Worker or in a similar role would be beneficial.
