Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors to join our growing pool of staff working across our partnership secondary schools in Sheffield and the surrounding areas. We have flexible opportunities available including:

  • Day-to-day cover
  • Short-term assignments
  • Long-term placements

These roles are ideal for aspiring teachers, graduates, experienced cover supervisors, youth workers, sports coaches, or anyone with experience working with young people.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

  • Deliver pre-set lesson plans in the absence of the classroom teacher
  • Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment
  • Ensure students remain engaged and on task throughout lessons
  • Support pupils with their learning where required
  • Follow school policies and procedures
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding student progress and behaviour

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • Experience working with secondary-aged students or young people
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • Confidence leading a classroom independently
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to work
  • A passion for education and supporting student development
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
  • The right to work in the UK
