Role

  • Support pupils across the Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 within the classroom environment.
  • Work closely with class teachers to deliver engaging, creative, and age‑appropriate learning activities.
  • Provide one‑to‑one and small group support to help children achieve their learning objectives.
  • Promote children's social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Assist in creating a positive, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support children's phonics, literacy, numeracy, and communication skills development.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and independence both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Contribute to the wider school community and uphold the school's values and ethos.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous experience working with children within EYFS, KS1, or a similar educational setting.
  • Enthusiastic, patient, caring, and passionate about supporting children's learning.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Can work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
  • Adaptable, proactive, and able to respond to the varying needs of young learners.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
