We are working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Corby that is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to join their team from September 2026. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity for someone who is committed to making a meaningful difference in the life of a pupil who requires additional support.
The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support team to provide tailored one-to-one support, helping a pupil access the curriculum, develop independence, and thrive both academically and socially.
About the Role:
As a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant, you will provide dedicated support to an individual pupil, adapting learning activities to meet their needs while encouraging independence and confidence. You will play an important role in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where the pupil feels valued, supported, and able to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing dedicated one-to-one support for a pupil throughout the school day
- Supporting the pupil's academic, social, and emotional development
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual support plans
- Delivering targeted interventions and adapting learning activities where appropriate
- Encouraging positive behaviour, engagement, and independence
- Assisting with classroom routines and learning resources
- Building positive relationships with the pupil, parents, and school staff
Who We're Looking For:
- Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable
- Experience supporting children in a primary school setting
- Previous experience working on a one-to-one basis is desirable
- A patient, caring, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
