Are you a caring, patient and resilient Teaching Assistant with experience supporting young people with complex needs? Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for a dedicated Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in Tameside. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs and helping them develop both academically and personally.

About the Role

As a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant, you will provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with a range of additional needs. You will work closely with teachers and the wider support team to help pupils access learning, manage their needs and build confidence and independence. The role will involve:

  • Supporting pupils with complex SEND needs
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support in lessons
  • Helping pupils to regulate emotions and manage behaviour
  • Supporting communication and social development
  • Encouraging independence and life skills
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and other professionals
  • Supporting pupils with personal care and hygiene needs
  • Maintaining a safe, calm and inclusive learning environment

Candidates must be comfortable providing personal care, including supporting pupils with toileting and personal hygiene, while always maintaining their dignity, privacy and wellbeing.
