Overview A well-regarded Alternative Provision (AP) setting in Clitheroe (BB7) is urgently seeking an experienced, reliable Chef / School Cook for a short-term temporary placement running for a few weeks. This is an ideal role for an experienced cook or chef looking for sociable, family-friendly daytime hours (8:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday) with zero weekend or evening commitments. Key Responsibilities Prepare, cook, and serve nutritious, balanced daily lunches for small groups of students and staff. Accommodate specific dietary needs, allergies, and cultural requirements safely and accurately. Maintain exceptional standards of kitchen hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness in line with Food Hygiene regulations and school policy. Manage daily stock rotation, temperature logs, and basic kitchen prep. Engage warmly and professionally within an education setting, respecting the school's positive and supportive culture. Candidate Requirements Experience: Proven commercial kitchen experience as a Chef, Cook, or Kitchen Assistant (experience in schools, care settings, or high-volume contract catering is highly desirable). DBS Check (Essential): Must hold an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the DBS Update Service (or be willing to undergo an immediate fast-track check). Qualifications: Level 2 Food Hygiene & Safety certificate (or equivalent culinary training). Reliability: Punctual, proactive, and capable of working independently to run a school kitchen service.
