This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate English teacher and leader to drive the department forward, inspire both staff and students, and play a key role in raising achievement across the school.
The Role
- Lead, manage and develop the English department, ensuring consistently high standards of teaching and learning.
- Inspire, motivate and support a team of dedicated English teachers.
- Drive student progress and attainment across English Language and Literature.
- Develop and deliver an engaging, ambitious and challenging curriculum.
- Monitor departmental performance and implement strategies to secure continuous improvement.
- Foster a love of reading, writing and literature, creating a culture where students are encouraged to think critically and creatively.
- Create a positive learning environment where all students are supported to achieve their full potential.
The Ideal Candidate
- Be an outstanding and enthusiastic English teacher.
- Have proven experience of leading or managing an English department, or be an ambitious middle leader ready to take the next step.
- Demonstrate excellent subject knowledge across English Language and Literature.
- Have a strong track record of improving student outcomes.
- Be an inspirational leader with the ability to motivate, support and develop colleagues.
- Have high expectations and a genuine passion for education.
