A welcoming and well-regarded two-form-entry primary school in Sutton is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 4 Class Teacher to join their team on a full-time maternity cover basis for the rest of the 2026 academic year. Set within a friendly and supportive community, this school is looking for a nurturing and motivated teacher who can provide high-quality teaching and continuity of learning during the maternity period. The headteacher is keen to appoint a fully qualified teacher with strong Key Stage 2 experience who will contribute positively to the school's inclusive, child-centred ethos.
The role will involve planning and attending a weekly staff meeting on Tuesdays until 4:45pm.
Key Responsibilities- Take full teaching responsibility for a Year 4 class within Key Stage 2
- Create a positive, inclusive and engaging classroom environment
- Support pupils in developing strong literacy and numeracy skills in line with the KS2 curriculum
- Assess, track and report on pupils' progress, attainment and wellbeing
- Work collaboratively with year group partners and colleagues to plan and deliver high-quality lessons
