Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Pupil Support: Assist students with diverse special educational needs (SEND), including communication and interaction needs, across daily classroom activities.
- Learning Environment: Help maintain a safe, happy, and well-regulated environment built on strong relationships and tailored individual approaches.
- Communication & Engagement: Support alternative and functional communication strategies to help pupils navigate their school day effectively.
- Progress Tracking: Monitor and record student engagement and developmental milestones to assist teachers and multidisciplinary specialists.
- Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with teaching staff, therapists, and families to empower pupils with key life skills.
Person Specification
- Experience: Previous background supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- Attributes: High emotional resilience, empathy, patience, and a calm, flexible approach.
- Compliance: Must hold a valid Enhanced DBS check (or be willing to process one immediately) and be available to start straight away.
