Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Pupil Support: Assist students with diverse special educational needs (SEND), including communication and interaction needs, across daily classroom activities.
  • Learning Environment: Help maintain a safe, happy, and well-regulated environment built on strong relationships and tailored individual approaches.
  • Communication & Engagement: Support alternative and functional communication strategies to help pupils navigate their school day effectively.
  • Progress Tracking: Monitor and record student engagement and developmental milestones to assist teachers and multidisciplinary specialists.
  • Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with teaching staff, therapists, and families to empower pupils with key life skills.

Person Specification

  • Experience: Previous background supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Attributes: High emotional resilience, empathy, patience, and a calm, flexible approach.
  • Compliance: Must hold a valid Enhanced DBS check (or be willing to process one immediately) and be available to start straight away.
