Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking dedicated and compassionate SEN Support Assistants to work on a full-time, 5-day-a-week basis within a partner Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Chorley. This role requires an immediate start to support students with diverse learning needs, including autism (ASC), moderate to severe learning difficulties (SLD), and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1-to-1 and small group support to students with Special Educational Needs.
- Assist the classroom teacher in delivering engaging, tailored lessons and activities.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- Help manage student behaviour using positive reinforcement strategies.
- Track student progress and assist with daily classroom organisation.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN in a school or care setting is highly desirable.
- A resilient, patient, and empathetic approach to education.
- A valid Enhanced DBS check registered on the update service (or willingness to process one immediately through Tradewind).
- Availability to work Monday through Friday on a full-time basis, starting ASAP.
